I looked forward to cutting this jigsaw puzzle because of the possibilty of incorporating some nice fretwork into it. In "Sky Gems," twenty six fanciful drop-outs are cut along the borders, and eleven more within the picture, to accentuate the artist's painting style.
I again employed my personal technique of insetting decorative gems into the wood board. You can see brilliant red gems adorning the waist of the largest balloon in the picture below.
Here, you can see the jigsaw puzzle with the Figurals and Picture Elements removed.
I wasn't surprised to see some hot air balloon Figurals come into the puzzle, along with some birds and even an old fashioned bi-plane.
....and I laughed when I saw this Figural appear from, ahem....mid-air! I hope he holds onto that rope tightly!
If you look carefully, you can see a horse by the barn, and a turtle....on the roof ?! This little guy has been visiting a bunch of my puzzles lately, and I'm finding him in the most unpredictable places for a turtle to be!
