Here is where I will share what I have learned about Buff the Magic Dragon and what I hope to someday discover.
Buff finds his way into every premium puzzle that I cut, so I know he must be a curious dragon. In fact, I usually find him hanging around particularly interesting areas of the puzzle's picture. He seems to really love my puzzles and can't get enough of them!
Therefore, since he stops by so frequently, I've decided to make him my Signature Piece. In every puzzle where Buff shows himself, I will sign my name and write the date the puzzle was completed on his back.
What I have learned about Buff has come slowly over a long period of time. He is a somewhat shy and modest Dragon and does not like to talk about himself very much. Sometimes, as I am cutting my puzzles, however, Buff will bring me into his Magical World. While there, I sometimes meet other inhabitants, some of which like to ocassionally come and visit my puzzles along with Buff. By speaking with these other interesting creatures, I have come to know a fair amount about my kind-hearted, visiting Dragon.

In Buff's World, there are many types of Dragons. Most look pretty similar on the outside and have many of the same abilities. What sets them apart is what is on the inside. In Buff's world, all Dragons have different hearts, and the type of heart they have determines what kind of Dragon they are.
Some Dragons, known for their vanity, have hearts of diamonds, while others, known for their stubborness, have hearts of granite, and will never budge. Some Dragons have hearts of flame, some of steam, and some of wind. I've heard of Dragons with hearts of wood, hearts of sand and even hearts of cloud. I've seen Dragons with hearts of acid, and I'll tell you, that was pretty scary! Of all the Dragons, however, Buff's heart is the rarest of all.
Buff has a heart of Gold.

When a Dragon is born, it knows not the kind of heart it has. A Dragon only learns of it's heart, and thus it's nature, through the deeds it does and the deeds it fails to do. A Dragon with a heart of lead is easily persuaded to bend it's opinion on matters, and is simply incapable of flight. A Dragon with a heart of ice shows very little warmth to others, but will always hold very still and only slowly and purposefully move when it is ready to do so. A Dragon with a heart of embers is always ambitious to blaze new paths in life, but at the same time, is content to cool it's ambitions if proper opportunities do not present themselves.
When a Dragon has come to fully recognize it's heart's nature, Wizentime has occurred. This means that the Dragon has developed appropriate wisdom to learn the powers of magic. In Buff's World, all mature Dragons who have achieved Wizentime, serve to fill a critical need. Even Dragons with acidic hearts have a purpose and use their scornful behaviors to perform tasks well-suited to their demeanor, however limited those tasks might be. To this end, all Dragons are respected in Buff's World and live on in it's stories, poems, songs, and legends.

I'm not certain at what point Buff acquired the power of magic by achieving Wizentime, but I do know that his heart of gold is recognized as nobility in his World. Gold is very valuable and shines a unique brilliance not seen with other elements. This radiance is seen in Buff as well, not just on his skin and scale, but in his essence and spirit.
Alas, gold is not perfect and is often alloyed with other metals, some of which have certain "ungold-like" qualities. It is perhaps because of these that Buff often enjoys a bit of mischief and has been known to periodically cause some stir in towns and villages....snatching some pies, spooking the cattle and hiding inside covered bridges are frequent complaints. Buff claims it's all in the name of fun, of course! Also, his stubborn curiosity about the Worlds around him is evident by his frequent visits into the puzzles I cut.

I hope to learn more about Buff as I meet him and his fellow inhabitants more often in the future. Check back frequently, as I will share all (or almost all) that I discover in my journal below!
